Melissa Cole, APRN DNP

Melissa is an adult geriatric primary care nurse practitioner. She graduated with her master’s degree from The University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida, in 2015 and her doctorate in nursing practice from Aspen University in Aspen, Colorado, in 2022. She was a registered nurse for 26 years before transitioning into advanced practice.

Over the course of her nursing career, she has provided care to patients in the emergency room, pediatrics, labor & delivery, high-risk obstetrics, operating room, public health, telemetry, and home health care. She specializes in primary care in the community health setting and is passionate about providing care for vulnerable populations. She believes health promotion is the key to improving the health and quality of life of her patients. She feels that spending time building relationships with patients will facilitate an understanding of their health and treatment plan and will enhance their knowledge leading to more self-confidence in their care and a sense of well-being.

She was born and raised in the hills of West Virginia and moved to Florida 10 years ago. She married her high school sweetheart and has been married for 36 years. She has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering in free clinics, both nationally and internationally, to provide healthcare care to the less fortunate. She also enjoys running, kayaking, hiking, skiing, playing with her grandkids, and participating in activities at her church.

She will be participating in both mobile visits and telehealth, providing primary care to the adult patient population at Olive Health.
